Appointments of teachers on ‘political basis’ in Sindh colleges draw SPLA’s ire 

Some recent appointments in Sindh’s government colleges have been made on political basis, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

While, on one hand, teachers in grade-19, are awaiting their appointments, those in grade-17 and grade-18 have become favourites of the college administrations.

In one of the government girls’ colleges, a grade-17 teacher has been elevated to the post of a college in-charge.

Similar is the case with Government Girls’ College, Tando Adam where, too, a grade-18 teacher has been elevated to the post of a principal.

The situation is no different in Government Girls College Naushero Feroze.

Sindh Professors and Lecturers Association (SPLA) has made it clear that it will not tolerate the appointments of junior teachers instead of senior ones on important posts.

Appealing to the Sindh Education Minister to take notice of the situation, SPLA has hinted at resuming protests if the issue is not resolved.
