Karachi Whites storm into National T20 Cup final after thrashing Sialkot

Abdullah Fazal's blistering batting display helped Karachi Whites to storm into the final of the ABS Developers National T20 Cup 2026 after defeating Sialkot by five wickets at Imran Khan Cricket Stadium, Peshawar, 24NewsHD TV reported on Tuesday.

Chasing a target of 166, Karachi Whites raced to 167-5 in just 15.1 overs, completing the chase with 29 balls to spare, led by Fazal and skipper Saud Shakeel.

Fazal scored 88(41) laced with six fours and seven sixes to put Sialkot’s bowlers under pressure from the outset.

Saud Shakeel stood with the opener Fazal with a rapid 45 off 21 deliveries, striking five fours and three sixes.

The pair managed a 92-run opening stand that laid the foundation for Karachi's victory.

Captain and leg-spinner Usama Mir led the Sialkot bowling attack and took 3-46, removing Shakeel, Shan Masood and Khawaja Nafay, while Sufiyan Muqeem chipped in with 1-23.

But Haroon Arshad remained unbeaten on 15, and Danish Aziz added an unbeaten seven to guide Karachi home.

Earlier, Sialkot posted 165-9 in their 20 overs after a series of useful contributions, but failed to convert starts into a match-defining total.

Khawaja Arham top-scored with 40 off 33 balls, while Hasan Nawaz made 43 from 33 deliveries and Ali Afzal provided late impetus with a brisk 26 off 13 balls.

Mohsin Riaz also struck 15 off 10 at the top, but Sialkot lost wickets at regular intervals and were unable to build sustained partnerships in the middle and death overs.

Among Karachi’s bowlers, Mohammad Umar was the standout performer with 3-29 while left-arm spinner Mohammad Asghar returned impressive figures of 2-23, including the key wickets of Arham and Hasan Nawaz.

Fazal was named player of the match for his match-winning assault, which powered Karachi Whites into the tournament final in emphatic fashion.
