Man dies after accidental self-inflicted gunshot in Delhi

A man in India’s capital New Delhi died after accidentally shooting himself in the chest while handling a loaded pistol as a friend recorded a video, 24NewsHD TV reported on Tuesday. 

According to Indian media, the man, identified as Pawan, allegedly suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound while loading the weapon.

A video of the incident, which has since gone viral on social media, appeared to show Pawan loading the pistol while his friend, who was behind the camera, gave him instructions.

The person filming could also be heard warning him, saying, “Don’t fire it, brother,” moments before the shot was discharged, according to the footage circulating online.

Pawan was rushed to a hospital immediately after the incident, but later succumbed to his injuries, media reports said.

Authorities said the pistol used in the incident belonged to the man recording the video and was a licensed weapon.

Delhi Police said an investigation was underway and that officials were examining all aspects of the case.
