Thousands of CDA staffers protest cut in salaries, denial of Eid allowance

Thousands of employees of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Tuesday protested against cut in their salaries and the non-payment of Eid allowance, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Work at all directorates came to a halt as the employees gathered outside the CDA headquarters on the call given by the labour union.

Later, they converged outside the chairman office and raised slogans.

Speaking on the occasion, the protestors urged the government to immediately withdraw its decision of cut in their salaries.

They said that a member administration had assured them that their salaries would not be slashed.

The employees stated categorically that they would not accept the government’s decision.

The employees also demanded the payment of Eid allowance and staged a sit-in outside the Chairman Block.

They stopped the vehicle of member Engineering and lay down in front of it.
