Coronavirus cases top 40,000 in Pakistan; 39 more deaths reported

The total number of coronavirus cases has increased to 40,151 with the addition of another over 1,000 infections, as 39 more deaths were also reported in Pakistan during the past 24 hours.
According to the National Command and Operation Centre updates early Sunday, there are 28,185 active cases in the country as 11,224 patients have so far fully recovered from the infection.
The most number of cases are reported in Sindh where the total currently stands at 15,590. It is followed by 14,484 in Punjab, 5,847 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 2,544 in Balochistan, 947 in Islamabad, 527 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 112 in Azad Kashmir.
The latest figures were obtained as another 14,175 people were tested for the virus during the past 24 hours after which the total number of tests conducted in the country has increased to 373,410.
The total number of deaths has risen to 873 with the addition of 39 during the last 24 hours. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is witnessing the most deaths with figures rising to 305. Sindh is second with 268 followed by Punjab 252, Balochistan 35, Islamabad seven, Gilgit-Baltistan four and Azad Kashmir one.
