Punjab CM Hamza orders inquiry into illegal highrises in Murree

Expressing concern that Murree had suffered a lot during four years of the PTI government, Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz on Tuesday vowed to make the popular hill resort beautiful again, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Chairing a meeting in the committee room of the Government House, Murree, he directed the concerned officials to brief him as to how water could be made reusable for the area residents so that the problem of the water shortage could be overcome.
The Punjab CM also ordered an inquiry into the illegal construction of buildings in the city. “Please submit to me the list of the structures built without maps or the approval of concerned authority,” he directed.
Hamza also ordered the restoration of Iqbal Library and repair of the expressway. “Please also improve the condition of the Walking Street and the Pindi Point,” he said, adding that not only that but work on the repair of other roads and streetlights should also be expedited.
The chief minister urged the concerned officials to focus on cleanliness as well as on the disposal of solid waste in order to make the resort beautiful again.
At the same time, he ordered restoration of the General Bus Stand by June this year.
Hamza asked the officials to build control rooms of the National Disaster Management Authority and Tourism Development in order to deal with any emergency.
The CM was told that 600 buildings were built in the city during the four years of the PTI government.
