Amir Kiyani announces leaving PTI, politics

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Additional Secretary General Amir Kiyani condemned the violent attacks on May 9 and announced quitting politics and the party after 27 years of struggle.
He said he was highly disappointed with the current political anarchy and considered that politics is no more a ‘cup of tea’ for him.
PTI Additional Secretary General Amir Kiyani addressed a press conference at National Press Club Islamabad on Wednesday.
Amir Kiyani said his name is included in the Exist Control List and he belongs to a small village in Islamabad and will not go abroad. 

He advised his former party, the PTI that adopt the co-existence attitude in politics of Pakistan.

Amir Kiyani declared May 9 as a 'national tragedy day as the attack on GHQ, Jinnah House, and other government properties is deplorable.
He said incidents of arson are an attack on the state's integrity so he cannot be a part of such politics which will damage the country.
He said he does not believe in dragging institutions into politics and wants the politicians should struggle within their limits.
He said since he joined PTI in 1996, did not make any statement against the army in the last 27 years.

Amir Kiyani said he belongs to a military family and his grandfather was also a soldier while my grandfather's younger brother did the Sword of Honour before the partition of India.
When the incident happened on May 9, he went to meet PTI Chairman Imran Khan, but they were not allowed, Amir Kiyani said.
He said he thought the army has nothing to do with politics but when you walk in their door, then the connection will be established.
