ATC set to indict Jinnah House attack case accused on May 24
Anti-Terrorism Court, while hearing Jinnah House Attack case in Lahore, distributed the copies of the challan among all 267 accused.
ATC Admin Judge Manzar Ali Gul conducted the hearing of the case at Kot Lakhpat Jail amid tight security arrangements. The court has set May 24 as the date for the indictment of the accused.
Earlier the attendance of the accused including Alia Hamza and Khadija Shah, Dr. Yasmin Rashid and other accused was completed.
Rana Mudassar Advocate and Burhan Moazzam Advocate appeared on behalf of the accused. The accused on bail in the cases include Sanam, Javed, Alia Hamza, Tayyaba Raja, Khadija Shah and Rubina Jamil, among others.
PTI leaders are accused of inciting PTI workers to uprising and riots on May 9, 2023. DSP Investigation Javed Asif and Prosecutor Azar appeared on behalf of the government. Meanwhile, ATC Judge Arshad Javed heard Sherpao Bridge Case related to May 9 riots against PTI leaders and workers. During the hearing in Kot Lakhpat, three witness record their statements against the accused. In total, more than 50 witnesses have testified in the case so far. The court has summoned other witnesses to record their testimonies at the next hearing. The court has adjourned the hearing till May 20.
Dr. Yasmin Rashid and other detained leaders have completed their attendance in jail. Alia Hamza and other accused on bail appeared. The attendance of detained leaders Omar Sarfraz Cheema, Dr. Yasmin Rashid, Ijaz Chaudhry and Mian Mahmood-ul-Rasheed has been completed. The accused are accused of sedition and inciting the public to riots in the case.
