Bangladesh high commissioner meets PFPA officials

A Bangladeshi government delegation met officials of the Pakistan Film Producers Association (PFPA) in Lahore on Monday. 

During the meeting, the two sides discussed cultural ties and joint film initiatives, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

During the meeting, Bangladesh High Commissioner MD Iqbal Hussain Khan said both countries should restart film production together. He stressed revival of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Cultural Programme and offered full support from the Bangladesh Consulate. 

MD Iqbal Hussain Khan also proposed a film festival featuring movies from both nations and the exchange of film crews and technology.

During the meeting with the high commissioner, veteran actor and filmmaker Shaan Shahid said, "Now it is not the time for handshakes, but for hugs."

Deputy High Commissioner MD Imanul Islam Khan, Honorary Consul General Qazi Humayun Farid and Sardar Muhammad Noman-uz-Zaman were also present.

The film delegation included directors Shahzad Rafique, Safdar Malik, Syed Noor, Masood Butt, Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar and Shan Shahid.
