‘Not everyone has the right to call out celebrities,’ says Sabeena Farooq
Popular Pakistani actress Sabeena Farooq has spoken out against extreme backlash over showbiz figures for remaining silent over the ongoing issues in the country. Her comment came amidst the heavy trolling of a few showbiz stars who did not say a single word against India for their missile attacks in Pakistan.
In case the readers are not aware, Pakistani stars Hania Aamir, Fawad Khan have been severely criticized for their stances on the India-Pakistan war; however, celebrated singers Atif Alam and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan were also trolled for the same, but Atif has lately offered his statement against the war situation.
A day before, Senior Pakistani actress Atiqa Odho had humbly requested people not to drag soft image ambassadors like artists into politics, as she believes they have nothing to do with such things as politics; they aim to spread love and harmony in society.
However, lately Sabeena Farooq also took to her Instagram handle and expressed her insight over the trolls and criticism on celebrities through an upload which says; “Not everyone, with a blue tick has the right has the right to criticize and called out celebrities (mind you there are many). Enough with this. We talk & protest & do everything & still get trolled. You are not reciving thousand of abusive messages daily. Its us, Pehlay Humari Jagah Per Ayen Phr Bolain. Also, only because a few artists did not speak up did not hold the whole artist community accountable. Period.”
