India’s threat to erase nuclear Pakistan from earth’s surface is madness: ISPR

Responding to an inflammatory statement made by the Indian army chief during an interview, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Sunday that the statement showed that neither Indian leadership had recognised Pakistan from the core of its heart nor it had learnt any lesson during the last eight decades, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The Indian army chief had recently stated that Pakistan must decide whether it wanted to become part of geography and history.

The ISPR said that contrary to bad intentions shown by India, Pakistan had already emerged as an important country by becoming a nuclear power and permanent part of South Asia’s geography and history.

It added that India’s this mindset based on arrogance, warmongering and prejudice was responsible for pushing South Asia to wars and crises.

The ISPR further said that the threat given by the Indian army chief to erase Pakistan, which was a sovereign and a nuclear power, from the world’s map was not any strategic signaling or brinkmanship, but madness and war hysteria.

“India knows fully well that the consequences of any attempt to obliterate Pakistan will no longer remain confined to the latter, but will also engulf the former,” it said, adding that responsible nuclear states exercised restraint, showed maturity and seriousness rather than threatening their rivals with erasing them from the surface of the earth.

The ISPR said that India’s aggressive attitude did not reflect its confidence, but rather disillusionment stemming from its failure to tame Pakistan during Maarka-e-Haq.

“There is a suggestion for the Indian leadership to refrain from once again pushing the region to a war or a crises, the consequences of which could be devastating for the region and beyond,” it said, adding that India would have to acknowledge Pakistan’s significance and believe in mutual co-existence.
