Sindh Local Govt Dept to scrutinise recruitments and promotions

The Sindh Local Government Department has decided to launch a comprehensive scrutiny process of recruitments and promotions in all town administrations of Karachi following concerns over fake appointments and irregular promotions.

According to official directives, verification of employees’ service profiles has been made mandatory before salaries are issued through the SAP system. Authorities said the move is aimed at ensuring transparency and identifying irregularities in staffing records across various towns of the metropolis.

Directors of Human Resources from all Karachi towns have been instructed to appear on specified dates along with complete service records of employees for verification.

Under the announced schedule, records of employees from Ibrahim Hyderi, Malir and Gadap towns will be verified on May 18. Verification of employees from New Karachi, North Nazimabad, Gulberg, Nazimabad and Liaquatabad towns will take place on May 19 and 20.

Similarly, records from Manghopir, Orangi and Mominabad towns will be reviewed on May 21 and June 1. Authorities have also directed officials to complete verification of records for Model Colony and Shah Faisal Town by June 2.

According to the schedule, scrutiny of employees from Korangi and Landhi towns will be conducted on June 3, while verification for Maripur, Morro Mir Bahr and Baldia towns is scheduled for June 4 and June 8.

The verification process for Sohrab Goth, Safoora and Gulshan-e-Iqbal towns will be carried out on June 9 and 10, whereas records of employees from Jinnah, Chanesar, Saddar and Lyari towns will be checked from June 11 to 15.

The schedule for the verification drive was issued by Muhammad Ramzan Pathan, who directed all concerned departments to ensure full cooperation during the scrutiny process.
