Trader brothers shot dead in Gujar Khan shooting incident
Two trader brothers were shot dead by an armed attacker in the Gujar Khan area of Rawalpindi, police said, in an incident believed to be linked to a personal dispute arising from a traffic accident case, 24NewsHD TV reported on Sunday.
The attack took place on Railway Road, where the suspect allegedly opened indiscriminate fire on the two brothers while they were at their wholesale grocery shop.
Police said the victims, identified as Mehboob and Mehmood, suffered critical injuries and later died despite efforts to save them.
According to investigators, the deceased were real brothers involved in the wholesale grocery business.
One of the victims, Malik Mehboob, also served as vice president of the local Grocery Merchant Association.
Senior police officials, including SSP Operations Malik Tariq Mehboob and the ASP of Gujar Khan, reached the scene soon after the shooting was reported.
Police collected forensic evidence from the site and shifted the bodies to the hospital for post-mortem examination and legal formalities.
