The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in Karachi on Sunday arrested two imposters, including a woman, who would introduce themselves as government officials, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to the FIA’s spokesman, the suspects namely Ihtesham Rao and Shumaila Khan would pose as members of the National Peace Force Committee for Interfaith Harmony.
He added that an FIR had been registered while investigation was underway.
The spokesman informed that the suspects would try to access FIA officials through WhatsApp messages and visiting cards. “However, during an interrogation, they could not give any proof that they were government officials,” he said, adding that fake documents, membership cards and fake notifications bearing official logos were recovered from the suspects’ cellphones.
The spokesman vowed that the FIA would continue to take action against such individuals who would bring a bad name to government departments.
