Balochistan govt announces 3-month winter vacations in schools from Dec 1

Balochistan Education Minister Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind on Tuesday said the provincial government has decided to commence winter vacations in educational institutions from December 1 keeping in view the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The new education year will begin in March after three-month vacations across the province, the TV channel reported.

However, the education minister said the proposal of early winter vacations for three months has been sent to the National Command and Control Centre (NCOC).

Earlier, Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood had said the decision on early and extended winter vacations, in view of the rise in coronavirus cases across Pakistan, will be taken in a meeting on November 23.
