Unidentified persons stole solar panels and auxiliary items from the poles installed along the National Highway in Khairpur, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

The footage available with 24NewsHD shows the bent poles lying around with all the items necessary for illuminating the highway taken away. 

It is said that solar panels and lights as well as other related items installed on 30 poles were stolen. The estimated cost of these is around Rs3 million. 

But the question is: How these thieves were able to carry out this painstaking job without being noticed. Certainly, it cannot be completed with within minutes. Moreover, the location is obviously not a totally deserted place with no humans around for hours.

As far as the reason and motive is concerned, it can be the expensive electricity that is getting even more expensive with each passing day which made them go for this job.
