Fawad says opp has been defeated, parliament passes 70 bills

Federal Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry Wednesday said the opposition had received a defeat in the parliament as 70 bills had been passed with a majority.

According to the 24News HD TV channel, Fawad talked to media outside the parliament after passing the bills and said the attitude of the opposition was negative in the joint session of the parliament.

Anyhow, he said it was proved once again that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was the largest party in the country as they had received at least 223 votes in favour of the bills.

The information minister said they had made very good legislation and passed the bills related to the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) and Overseas Pakistanis.

Fawad said the joint session of the parliament had also passed the bill to constitute special courts and investigative cells for the rape cases in the country.

Commenting on the opposition’s reaction and a walkout from the joint session, he said Nawaz Sharif had never played cricket without his own umpires so what could more be expected of them.

He criticized the statement of the opposition members and said those who were brought up in the lap of martial law were now trying to teach politics to his leadership.
