Govt confused over appointment of army chief: Imran Khan

November 17, 2022 06:51 PM

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan Thursday said there is panic, commotion, and confusion in government circles over the appointment of the Army Chief, whereas they follow the wait-and-watch policy regarding this matter.

Senior Journalists Thursday met with former Prime Minister Imran Khan at his Zaman Park residence for an informal discussion, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The former premier mockingly suggested that other people should be brought out of prisons and be consulted about the appointment of the COAS after Asif Zardari.

He further said that his differences with the establishment arose over accountability and not removing Usman Buzdar when they told him to. The Punjab Government would have crumbled if Buzdar was removed.

The establishment and our government were on the same page when it came to foreign policy. The differences took birth on the way back from the visit to Russia, said Imran Khan.

Peaking about the Wazirabad attack incident, he said that he is 100% sure that he was fired on by a sniper and it is believed that there was more than one shooter.

However, the Joint Investigation Team JIT has started their activity and Pervez Elahi had nothing to do with the non-filing of the FIR.

Khan while talking about the worsening conditions in Pakistan said that the dangers of Pakistan defaulting are increasing.

The economy cannot get better before and without any improvement in political stability and the only hope for this revival are the overseas Pakistanis.

Separately, Imran Khan also gave an exclusive interview with 24 french tv on Thursday and expressed doubt about another attempt to murder him as the government is frightened of his popularity.
He said his long march will continue as he will not step back to do so. He said the opponents have a way to remove him to ease themself.
Former premier Imran Khan described the Wazirabad firing accused Naveed as a footsoldier of his rivals.
