Tom Cruise appeared in high spirits as he reunited with friends including Jennifer Hudson at a small pre-Governors Awards celebration in Los Angeles, just weeks after his split from actress Ana De Armas.

The 63-year-old star joined American actress, dancer and longtime friend Debbie Allen at her Los Angeles studio on Sunday, where a relaxed get-together took place ahead of the Oscars Governors Awards scheduled for the following evening.

Cruise was photographed looking sharp in a tailored black suit and shirt as he mingled with Hudson, 44, Allen and their close circle of family and friends.

The cheerful outing comes shortly after news surfaced last month that Cruise and De Armas had ended their nine-month romance.

The pair were last seen together publicly in July, appearing deeply in love as they held hands during a romantic weekend getaway to Woodstock, Vermont. Their relationship had only recently been made official on social media.

According to insiders, the breakup was amicable. A source told The Sun the couple “had a good time together” but ultimately realized they “weren’t going to go the distance.”

The insider added that although the spark had faded, Cruise and De Armas remain on friendly terms and intend to continue working together, with De Armas already cast in one of Cruise’s upcoming films.

Cruise's appearance at Sunday’s intimate gathering marks another sign that the Hollywood icon is moving forward positively.
