Coronavirus claims 13 more lives in Pakistan

Another 13 people died of the coronavirus during the past 24 hours (Friday), raising the death toll in Pakistan to 6,638, say the figures released by National Command and Operation Centre on Saturday morning.
On the other hand, the virus was found in 641 more people on Friday after which the overall number of cases reached 322,452 with the majority of these new infections reported in Sindh and Islamabad.
According to the region-wise distribution of coronavirus cases, Sindh unfortunately continues to top the list with 141,474 infections. Details for other provinces and regions are: Punjab 101,425, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 38,565, Islamabad 17,913, Balochistan 15,644, Gilgit-Baltistan 4,033 and Azad Kashmir 3,398.
The abovementioned numbers show that 225 new cases were reported in Sindh on Friday and 132 in Islamabad.
During the past 24 hours, 805 coronavirus patients fully recovered. Thus the total number of people recovering from the infection has now increased to 306,640. It means that the number of closed cases [deaths + number of those recovering from infection] currently stands at 313,278.
Meanwhile, the number of active cases currently stands at 9,174 out which 567 are critically ill patients and have been admitted in intensive care units.
Also on Friday, 32,465 tests were administered in the country as part of the ongoing efforts to identify, trace and isolate the infected persons to stop further spread.
In this way, the overall number of tests conducted since the coronavirus pandemic outbreak in the country has increased to 4,041,962.
