Maryam to reach Karachi Sunday for PDM’s second power show

After receiving a remarkable reception along the Lahore-Gujranwala route and delivering a thunderous speech at the rally, PML-N Vice-President Maryam Nawaz is all set to reach Karachi on Sunday to attend the second power show organised by the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Maryam, known for her aggressive political stance, will leave Lahore in the morning and land at Jinnah International Airport right at the stroke of noon. She is expected to visit the mausoleum of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

The PML-N leader will stay at a local hotel and then leave for the rally venue in the evening.

It will be the second grand show by the recently formed opposition alliance which had chosen Gujranwala for launching the anti-government drive. Quetta is the next destination for the APDM members as the city will host a gathering on Oct 25.

Maryam had left her Jati Umra residence just after 2pm but it took around seven hours to reach Gujranwala as thousands of party workers and supporters poured in on the GT Road to welcome and see a glimpse of her.

In her Gujranwala speech, she showed her command over Punjabi language for especially praising and thanking the people of the city – a PML-N stronghold.

She said they were accused of being a Sicilian Mafia but the truth had been revealed as who was the real mafia that first created a shortage of food items and then increase the prices.

Maryam also asked the people whether to give an NRO to Imran Khan as she said his theft of votes had been exposed and questioned whether he will resign or people should overthrow him.

On the other hand, an anti-terrorism court in Lahore on Saturday extended the interim bail period for Rana Sanaullah, Capt Safdar and other PML-N leaders till Oct 20. They are nominated in a case pertaining to the clash between the party workers and police on the day when Maryam had reached the NAB office in connection within an inquiry.
