Hand grenade attack at multiple-story building in Karachi, woman killed, 8 injured
A passerby lady was killed and eight people including a little girl were injured in a hand grenade attack at a multiple-story building in Karachi on Monday.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, some unknown motorcyclists threw the hand grenade at a three-story building located in the Bihar Colony of Lyari.
Resultantly, passerby two women, a little girl and five other people were injured who were immediately shifted to the hospital but one of them identified as Razia Bibi did not survive.
The police reached the spot and said in their initial investigations that it was not being they have not found fragments of any hand grenade or a cylinder.
The police sources said there were bullet marks in the shutters.
Anyhow, a bomb disposal team has also reached the crime scene and started investigations after collecting the evidence.
Due to a heavy blast, panic was spread among the locals who came out to their homes.
DIG Police South Karachi Asad Raza said unknown armed motorcyclists have thrown inflammable substances like a cracker in Lyari.
He confirmed that a woman was killed and eight people were injured in the incident. He said evidence has been found and the reason for the attack is being checked.
