Punjab CM Maryam holds meeting with newly-inducted ministers

The newly-appointed ministers met with Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Friday and discussed political matters, as well as the country's current situation, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

During the meetings, the participants also exchanged views on the province’s law and order situation.

Chief Minister Maryam welcomed the newly inducted Law Minister Rana Iqbal Khan and Minister for Labour and Human Resources Khawaja Manshaullah Butt into the cabinet.

Maryam described the inclusion of Rana Iqbal and Manshaullah Butt in the cabinet as a positive step. Both ministers expressed gratitude to the leadership of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz for their trust and confidence.

Punjab’s Law Minister praised CM Maryam’s vision for a peaceful Punjab.

The CM directed that transparency be ensured in the registration of factory workers and labourers, and instructed the Labour Minister to guarantee payment of prescribed wages. She emphasized that protecting the lives and property of citizens remains the government’s top priority.

Law Minister Iqbal noted that within a short span of a few months, the law and order situation across the province has significantly improved.

Later, the Punjab Chief Minister will leave for Islamabad, where she will attend a meeting presided over by the Prime Minister Mohammad Shehbaz Sharif.

During the meeting, she will brief the participants about legal and illegal Afghan refugees.

She will also present her viewpoint on agriculture policy and other matters.

The Chief Minister will also brief the meeting about the rehabilitation of flood-affected areas and the total loss due to flooding in the province.
