A man has moved a consumer court in Lahore praying that he should be paid Rs10 million in damages as his shipment of trotters (paaye) was ruined due to the negligence of the transport companies, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Seeking justice, Shirazud Din knocked on the door of the court claiming that he booked trotters (paaye) worth Rs2,834,925 for slaughterhouse (Bakar Mandi) in Lahore.
He said he approached Pakistan Cargo Sabzazar and Head Office New Truck Stand Karachi and booked 163 bags each having a 20-kg weight containing trotters of cows, buffalos and calves.
Shiraz said it was settled that the trotters will be taken in deep freezers but all the trotters got rotten after the staff of the transport companies lowered the temperature of the deep freezers.
“I suffered huge loss due to the staff’s negligence,” he added.
Judge Muhammad Afzal Mian of the consumer court has issued notice to the CEO of Pakistan Cargo Sabzasar and New Truck Stand Karachi, directing to appear before the court on October 15.
