A Russian delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk will pay a two-day visit to Pakistan this week, diplomatic sources said on Monday.

The Russian Deputy PM will lead a reach Pakistan on September 18, the sources said, adding that the visiting dignitaries will hold talks with the Pakistani Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister

The Russian high-level visit is highly significant ahead of Pakistan's membership of the United Nations Security Council next year, the insiders said, adding that the visit is taking place at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.
