Gohar Ejaz unveils bold roadmap for Pakistan’s economic revival

Chairman of Economic Policy and Business Development and former caretaker federal minister Gohar Ejaz has presented a comprehensive roadmap for Pakistan’s economic revival, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Wednesday.

The former minister stressed that economic growth cannot be achieved through new loans or rescheduling of old debts, but rather by revitalising trade, investment, and industries.

Ejaz described loans as nothing more than a temporary relief, comparing them to the support of a ventilator for a patient in the ICU. He emphasised that true recovery lies in creating a business-friendly environment.

Highlighting Pakistan’s potential, Ejaz said the country could become the fifth-largest economy in the world, noting that Pakistan is already the fifth most populous country.

The former minister urged that industries should be given equal opportunities on par with regional competitors.

He said Pakistan’s prosperity depends on allowing trade, industry, and investment to flourish, which will pave the way for long-term economic stability.
