Jinnah Road warehouse blast: Victim’s mother moves court for compensation
Mother of a Jinnah Road warehouse blast victim has moved the court for compensation making Sindh government and fireworks factory owner parties in the case, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
The tragedy took place on August 21, when a blast ripped through an illegal fireworks warehouse.
Naaz Begham, mother of one the blast victims, moved a Karachi court, demanded Rs67.3 million in damages from the Sindh government and the warehouse owners in the plea.
The claim has filed under the Fatal Accidents Act, according to her lawyer Farooq.
The petitioner contended that the explosion occurred due to the negligence of the factory and warehouse owners.
At the time of the incident, Naaz’s son Kashif was present with his father at a private hospital near the warehouse.
He had briefly stepped outside to get food when the explosion occurred, left him died, added the petition.
Naaz is not the first blast victim to file such a suit, seeking justice.
