PM inaugurates Pakistan TV Digital, English channel goes live

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday inaugurated Pakistan TV Digital and unveiled the plaque of its newly established English-language channel, aimed at projecting Pakistan’s narrative globally.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, Information Secretary Ambreen Jan, and other senior officials attended the ceremony.

The Prime Minister toured different sections of the new channel and held an interactive session with young professionals, praising their passion and terming their role crucial in countering hostile narratives against Pakistan.

During the launch, the Prime Minister also recorded his first interview for Pakistan TV Digital, emphasizing the platform’s mission to provide authentic news and counter misinformation.

Minister Tarar briefed the Prime Minister about the channel’s objectives, saying the initiative would serve as a credible Pakistani voice on the global stage, bridging the information gap and supporting public diplomacy.

The platform will highlight international affairs, cultural insights, economic developments, and analyses from a uniquely Pakistani perspective. Its workflow combines in-house reporting with a global network of freelancers and partnerships with Reuters and Associated Press (AP) to ensure real-time, verified, and high-quality coverage.

Officials said the initiative is strategically designed to neutralize biased regional media narratives, particularly those influenced by Western and Indian outlets.

“Pakistan TV Digital will be the hub of major stories as seen through Pakistan’s lens,” Minister Tarar remarked.
