The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Saturday warned the people not to click any link appearing to be sent by the board.
The board stated that some hackers are sending emails to people and steal their data and money.
Last month, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) had published the Active Taxpayers List (ATL).
According to the ATL, more than 2.6 million income tax returns were filed during the tax year under review as compared to 2.4 million filed during the previous tax year, showing an increase of 8 per cent.
The board has made a request to the FIA to dig into the matter and bring the culprits to book.
