Medical colleges in Punjab to remain closed for two more weeks

In view of the increasing number of cases of coronavirus, the Punjab Health Department has decided to close medical educational institutions for another two weeks, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
Medical institutions across the province will remain closed for another two weeks from the notification date.
The circular issued by the provincial Health Department maintained no classes will be held at medical universities, colleges, nursing colleges and in allied health schools.
However, clinical duties will continue as per schedule and MBBS and BDS examinations will be held on the scheduled date.
The Health Department clarified that any cultural events, sports or other activities will not be allowed in educational institutions in the mentioned time period.
It may be mentioned here that in the last 24 hours (Saturday), 3562 new cases reported in Punjab taking the tally to 267,572 and 97 patients lost their battle against COVID-19 and the death toll rose to 7430.
However, 2,341 patients fully recovered from the coronavirus in Punjab, as per the statistics released by the National Command and Control Centre (NCOC).
