The Sindh High Court (SHC) Monday expressed annoyance over the continued absence of famous TikToker Hareem Shah from the court hearings and rejected a petition which she had filed to challenge an inquiry of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) against her in the money laundering case.
The 24NewsHD TV channel reported that the court questioned the reason behind continued absence of the petitioner from the court hearings.
“Why have the petitioner not appeared despite the court orders?” asked the court.
“Hareem Shah has gone for Umrah,” the lawyer for Hareem Shah told the court.
“Let’s dispose of the petition now if the court orders are so unnecessary,” the court expressed displeasure.
“Hareem Shah can file a new petition upon her return,” said the court and rejected her plea challenging an FIA inquiry against her.
“The bank accounts of Hareem Shah have been frozen; her social media accounts have been blocked,” the lawyer informed the court.
“The FIA took this action in the absence of Hareem Shah,” he added.
At this, the assistant attorney general said that the FIA had sent several notices to Hareem Shah, but she did not appear in the court.
