Lightning strikes boat in Swabi's Hund area; one dead, two injured, two survive

A tragic incident unfolded in the Hund area of Swabi on Thursday as lightning struck a boat during rainfall, leading to the death of a boatman and injuries to two other individuals, local sources confirmed.

According to rescue and police officials, the lightning bolt hit the vessel mid-river, causing boatman Iqbal Hussain to drown. His body was later recovered by rescue teams after an intense search operation.

Two locals, Arshad and Junaid, sustained injuries in the incident and were promptly shifted to Bacha Khan Hospital, where medical staff confirmed that their condition is now stable and out of danger.

Meanwhile, two others on the boat, Wasif Shah and Haseeb, miraculously escaped unharmed despite the force of the lightning strike and the chaotic aftermath.
