Govt slashes light diesel, jet fuel prices as global oil prices fall

The federal ministry for petroleum has reduced the prices of light diesel and jet fuel in line with a decline in global petroleum rates, 24NewsHD TV reported on Saturday. 

According to details, the price of light diesel oil has been cut by Rs 70.04 per litre, bringing it down from Rs 399.72 to Rs 299.32 per litre. Jet fuel prices have also been reduced by Rs23.59 per litre, lowering the rate from Rs494.71 to Rs471.01 per litre.

Earlier, the government had reduced diesel prices by Rs32.12 per litre, bringing the rate down from Rs385.54 to Rs353.43 per litre.

Officials said the latest reductions are linked to fluctuations in the international oil market.
