Philippines’ Marcos does jumping Jacks at Press Meet to Quash Health Rumours

Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. surprised reporters by performing jumping jacks during a press conference, using the unusual display to dismiss lingering rumours about his health, 24NewsHD TV reported on Saturday.

According to international media reports, the 68-year-old leader, who had already drawn attention by jogging on his way to the venue, abruptly began exercising on stage, catching attendees off guard.

Marcos said the act was intended as a direct challenge to those questioning his physical condition.

“I am challenging those spreading claims about my illness to come and exercise with me,” he told reporters, adding that there was no truth to speculation that he was seriously ill or incapacitated.

He also invited journalists present to join him in the gym to see who could perform better, reinforcing his message of fitness and well-being.

Rumours about Marcos’ health had circulated widely on social media earlier this year after he was briefly absent from public view in January.

The president later addressed the issue in a video message, saying he had been hospitalised due to stomach-related problems, which he attributed to stress and age.
