Zilqad moon sighted in Pakistan, Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee confirms

Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad announced on Saturday that Zilqad moon was sighted in Pakistan.

According to the announcement, the first day of Zilqad will be observed on Sunday, April 19, 2026, following the receipt of credible testimonies from different parts of the country.

Azad stated that weather conditions varied nationwide, with clear skies in some areas and cloudy conditions in others. Despite this, sufficient evidence of moon sighting was received to confirm the beginning of the new Islamic month.

The chairman also referenced data from SUPARCO, which indicated that the new moon was born on April 17 at 4:52 pm, and that chances of sighting it on the evening of April 18 were very bright.
