The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday ordered the lawyer for Imran Khan to provide relevant record in the Toshakhana reference and adjourned hearing of the case till August 22 next, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Barrister Gohar, assistant lawyer for Imran Khan, adopted before the CEC that Imran Khan was not a Member of the National Assembly.
“Imran Khan is still an MNA in the ECP’s documents. The National Assembly secretariat did not send his resignation to the ECP after approval. An MNA cannot be de-notified until his resignation is accepted by the National Assembly speaker and sent to the ECP,” the CEC replied.
The CEC also said to Imran Khan’s assistant lawyer, “Go to the media for speeches. Talk about the law here. We have to decide this case within 30 days.”
Meanwhile, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Mohsin Shahnawaz Ranjha spoke to the media outside the ECP and said that Imran Khan had told lies.
He added that Imran Khan had to appear before the ECP to submit receipts.
“Pakistan is in need of real leaders,” he stressed and added that Nawaz Sharif would come to Pakistan soon.
It merits a mention here that five MNAs of the coalition government including Mohsin Shahnawaz Ranjha had filed a reference under Article 63 in the ECP for the disqualification of Imran Khan.
