Political persecution, media muzzling ruled the roost in Imran Khan’s term as PM: info minister

 In her fresh tirade against PTI chief Imran Khan, Federal Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb.

has said the ex-premier has just misled the nation as he has nothing to do with public service delivery, 24NewsHD TV channel reported Thursday.

“Imran Khan's job is to create chaos, pass seditious statements, and slander. When the media was muzzled, the Prime Minister was Imran Khan. Journalists were subjected to violence during Imran's tenure, Imran Khan's talk of media freedom is no less than a joke,” the minister maintained.

“Media watch international organizations declared Imran Khan a predator,” she said, adding that  Imran Khan fielded NAB against media owners, and his spokesperson used to campaign against the media owners.

She continued: “Imran Khan held hostage NAB and FIA for four years. Black laws were made against the media during Imran Khan's tenure.”

She said Imran went for political persecution during his four-year rule and recalled: “Maryam Nawaz was handcuffed in front of her father in Imran Khan’s rule. When Nawaz Sharif's wife died, obstacles were put in place to attend her funeral.

“Nawaz Sharif's health deteriorated in NAB custody. The person, lying in Pims today, was mocking the Sharif family. 

“When Kulsoom Nawaz was in London hospital, he was saying she was in the hotel. Three times elected PM was detained at Lahore airport. He was arrested along with his daughter.

“Federal Minister Rana Sana Ullah was arrested on false charges of having 20kg heroin and kept in jail. Shehbaz Sharif was arrested twice, he was not even given a chair to pray in jail.

Transparency International recorded historical corruption in the country during Imran Khan's tenure. Imran Khan looted Punjab with both hands. Cases were made against Javed Latif's 90-year-old mother.”

She mentioned scams of Malam Jabba, billion Tree Tsunami, BRT Peshawar, helicopter, foreign funding, 

“Imran Khan has been behind the sedition and chaos in the country with foreign funding

He questioned Imran’s claim to have broken the shackles of slavery of foreigners when he was depending on foreign funding. 

“Shehbaz Sharif used to appear in the NAB court and high courts every day. Despite the abuse of power, he could not prove the corruption charges against the Sharif family and the PML-N leaders that made him mislead the nation.”

“If FIA could arrest Shahbaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz, Salman, Saad Rafiq, Hamza on false charges, Imran Khan should also be arrested today.”
