Shaukat Ali Bhatti, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) member of the National Assembly (MNA) from district Hafizabad, has opposed the inclusion of his district in the Gujrat division, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

Talking to 24News TV channel, the MNA said that his party was bitterly opposed to the creation of Gujrat division and it would protest against the decision taken by Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi.

The Punjab government had yesterday (Wednesday, August 17, 2022) announced to elevate Gujrat district to division. Gujrat was made the division after Punjab Governor Baleegh-ur-Rehman gave the final approval. 

The notification issued in this regard said that the division would include three districts, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin and Hafizabad.
