No election this year as ECP announces to go for fresh delimitation

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has formally announced mapping new delimitations that will remap the electoral politics in Pakistan.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the ECP issued a press release on Thursday and decided to delimit new constituencies as per the official publication results of the digital census 2023.
The ECP has also issued a notification regarding the new constituencies and sought assistance from the provincial governments and the Department of Statistics of Pakistan too.
The ECP also issued the schedule for carrying out delimitations of constituencies in the notification.
As per the schedule, the ECP has frozen the boundaries of Administrative Unites across the country from today (August 17, 2023) while on August 21, Delimitation Committee for each province including Islamabad will be constituted.
Training of the Delimitation Committees will be held from Sep 1 to Sep 4 and the committee will determine and share the district quotas of seats for national and provincial assemblies from Sep 5 to Sep 7.
From Sep 8 to Oct 7, the committees will make preliminary delimitation of constituencies and on Oct 9, preliminary proposals for delimitation of constituencies along with a report will be issued.
From Oct 10 to Nov 8, representation on preliminary proposals for delimitation of constituencies before the ECP will be filed and the Commission will hear the representations from Nov 10 to Dec 9.
The final publication of delimitation will be done on Dec 14, 2023.
