Adiala Jail yet to receive written order for Imran Khan’s hospital transfer

Adiala Jail authorities have yet to receive a written order regarding the proposed transfer of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan from the prison to a private hospital in Islamabad, 24NewsHD TV reported on Tuesday.

According to the sources, arrangements for the transfer will be made once the written order is formally received by the jail administration in Rawalpindi.

The sources said the private hospital would have to be declared a sub-jail. This administrative decision would allow Imran Khan to remain under prison custody while receiving treatment there.

If the hospital is declared a sub-jail, around 20 members of Adiala Jail staff would accompany Imran Khan.

The team would include a deputy superintendent, two assistant superintendents, a cook, and other prison personnel.

The sources said Imran Khan would remain in jail custody even while staying at the hospital.

Security arrangements for his transfer from Adiala Jail to the hospital would be the responsibility of the district police.

Once at the hospital, security inside the designated room or ward would be handled by jail police, while outer security would be the responsibility of Islamabad Police.

The jail manual would continue to apply to Imran Khan during his stay at the hospital, the sources said.

They added that further arrangements would be made after the Adiala Jail administration receives the formal written order from the relevant authorities.
