FIA arrests alleged human smuggler over Rs6m Canada visa fraud
The Federal Investigation Agency’s Anti-Human Trafficking Circle Islamabad has arrested an alleged human smuggler accused of taking Rs6 million from a complainant on the promise of sending him to Canada.
According to the FIA, the arrested suspect was identified as Nadeem Masih, son of Nazir Masih.
Investigators said the accused allegedly deceived the complainant by promising to arrange his travel to Canada and received Rs6 million from him.
A case has been registered against the suspect under FIR No. 592/26 under Sections 18 and 22 of the Emigration Ordinance, 1979, along with Sections 419, 420, 468 and 471 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
The operation was carried out by Inspector Muhammad Azeem and Assistant Sub-Inspector Mazhar Shah.
The FIA said further investigation was underway.
