Major industries' production rises by 5% in fiscal year 2025-26
Production in Pakistan’s major industries increased by 4.98% during the financial year 2025-26, according to data released by the Federal Bureau of Statistics, reported 24NewsHD TV on Tuesday.
According to the report, production of major industries fell by 3.48% year-on-year in June 2026, while it declined by 6.08% compared to the previous month.
The automobile sector recorded the highest growth, with production increasing by 57.7% during the financial year.
Production of transport equipment rose by 42.3%, while furniture production increased by 22.69%.
Football production grew by 16.62% during the year. Production of electrical equipment increased by 14.2%, while tobacco production rose by 12.6%.
On the other hand, pharmaceutical production declined by 8.87%, while iron and steel production fell by 7.84%.
Chemical production decreased by 3.5%, leather products by 1.95%, and textile production by 0.63% during the financial year.
