Man shoots dead wife, three in-laws, then turns gun on himself in Lahore
After failing to convince his love to return home, a man shot and killed his wife and three members of her family before turning the gun on himself in Lahore on Tuesday morning, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to the police, the suspect, identified as Imran Shaukat, had married Samia Bibi around six months ago. However, Samia had been living at her parents’ home and the accused wanted to take her to his home.
The accused, armed with a rifle, arrived at his in-laws’ residence located in Barkat Colony in Chung area of Lahore at 5.45 am on Tuesday morning and demanded that his wife return with him.
During the ensuing confrontation, Imran Shaukat allegedly opened fire on his in-laws, killing Samia Bibi on the spot as she received a bullet in her head. When family members tried to intervene, he also shot and killed his father-in-law, Ali Khan by firing bullets in his chest; 21-year-old brother-in-law Zeeshan Khan was shot in the back; and mother-in-law Shumaila, police said.
After the incident, the suspect also shot himself in the head and died.
Following the incident, police teams reached the scene and began collecting evidence.
The bodies were shifted to Jinnah Hospital for post-mortem examinations. Further investigation into the circumstances surrounding the killings was under way.
