Pakistan remain winless in Asian Hockey Champions Trophy

Poor performance of Pakistan hockey team in Men’s Asian Champions Trophy continued Saturday as green shirts remained winless in the event after playing out another draw.
Pakistan, who played a draw with Japan and tasted a defeat at the hands of arch-rivals India, Pakistan managed another 3-3 draw with South Korea.
Afraz scored one goal and Rana Waheed scored 2two goals for Pakistan. South Korea took the lead with a goal which was ended by Pakistan's Afraz through a field goal. Rana Waheed scored the second and third goals for Pakistan. South Korea ended the lead by adding two more goals.
Pakistan's Afraz was named player of the match.
Pakistan will play its fourth match in the event tomorrow (December 19) against Bangladesh.
Pakistan are currently fourth on the table only up above last-placed Bangladesh in the five-team event. However, Pakistan may qualify for the semi-finals after a win over lowly Bangladesh as all top four teams will be eligible to play semis. If Pakistan remained in the fourth place, they are likely to face India gain.
It is pertinent to mention that the Pakistan team, yet to claim a victory in the tournament, the matches of which are being played in Bangladesh from December 14 to December 22.
