Islamabad Bar to strike over IHC decision on Justice Tariq Jahangiri
The Islamabad Bar Association (IBA) announced a strike on Thursday in response to the Islamabad High Court’s (IHC) decision declaring the appointment of Justice Tariq Jahangiri null and void, reported 24NewsHD Tv channel.
In its strike notice, the IBA condemned what it described as illegal and unconstitutional decisions, emphasizing its commitment to the rule of law and opposition to any harassment of the judiciary.
The association stated that it has always stood against actions that violate the Constitution and legal provisions.
The notice highlighted that no judicial decision should be made without fulfilling all legal requirements.
As part of the protest, lawyers affiliated with the IBA will boycott court proceedings tomorrow to express their dissent against the IHC’s ruling.
The association urged authorities to ensure that all appointments and decisions strictly comply with constitutional and legal norms.
