Prime Minister inaugurates Iqbal Flyover, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised for rapid completion

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Thursday inaugurated the Iqbal Flyover in Islamabad, completed in a record 77 days, hailing it as a major achievement by Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.

The Prime Minister said projects completed under Naqvi’s leadership over the past one and a half years have greatly eased commuting for residents, transporters, and the general public in the twin cities.

Addressing the inauguration, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi highlighted that the project focused on both quality and timely completion, adding that it will also help address water-related issues in the city. The Iqbal Flyover is expected to facilitate around 150,000 vehicles entering Islamabad and Rawalpindi from GT Road, while enhancing the city’s overall aesthetics.

Naqvi also shared plans for upcoming infrastructure projects, including the Islamabad Expressway service road, aimed at reducing traffic congestion. He noted that traffic at T-Chowk, previously a major bottleneck, will be significantly eased once these projects are completed.

The Interior Minister said the government is implementing Vision 2027 for Islamabad’s development, which includes modern infrastructure, improved traffic management, and enhanced urban facilities. These initiatives, he said, will not only solve traffic issues but also elevate the quality of urban life, shaping Islamabad into a modern and developed city.

Citizens have expressed gratitude for the new flyover and the ongoing development initiatives in the capital.
