The authorities have issued directives to implement a weekly day-off schedule for Punjab Police.

In the first phase, from constables to station house officers of big cities will have a weekly holiday and in the second phase, all the provincial force will be enjoying weekly holidays.

Through a circular, city and town heads have been informed about the directives and asked to keep updated the roster.

The DIG (IT) will monitor the implementation of the directives, what top cop Inam Ghani said, aimed at providing the soldiers with relief from stress and fatigue.

The step has been taken to let the cops enjoy a day with their families, the police chief said.

Earlier in the ongoing month, the IGP orders command officers to fill all vacancies from constable to SP rank through promotions instead of hiring new candidates for vacant posts.

Reportedly, the instructions from the top cop were issued in a wireless message to all command officers, including RPOs, unit heads, CPOs, DPOs of the province.

According to IGP, the appointments would be made after departmental promotions that will happen after holding promotion board meetings in all districts and field formations as soon as possible.
