Punjab police refuse to detain Liaqat Ali Chatta
Rawalpindi Police Saturday denied the arrest of Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Liaqat Ali Chatta, who resigned on allegations of election rigging.
In a statement on social media, ‘X’, Rawalpindi Police has said that they did not arrest Commissioner Rawalpindi.

Earlier, there was news that CPO Rawalpindi arrested the Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Liaquat Ali Chatta an d took him to an unknown location and a heavy contingent of police was also deployed outside the CPO office.
Meanwhile, the police have recorded the initial statements of the staff of the Rawalpindi Commissioner's office. A few of the staff members were escorted out the back door after questioning.
Police are still present at the commissioner's office while the record room of the commissioner's office has been sealed. CCTV footages were also reviewed.
The records of the people who came for the meeting in the commissioner's office were also obtained
The persons concerned from the Commissioner's Office were allowed to go home after giving an assurance not to go out of the city.
