2000 sacks of sugar recovered from hoarders in Khairpur

District administration in collaboration with law enforcement agencies (LEAs), impounded 2000 sacks of sugar and sealed three godowns in Khairpur, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Tuesday.
Assistant Commissioner Arsalan Haider said that they received credible information that a huge quantity of sacks of sugar were dumped in various godowns located in different areas of Khairpur.
Soon after receiving the information, a raiding squad was constituted that recovered 2000 sacks of sugar from three godowns and sealed them immediately for storage of sugar illegally.
AC Arsalan Haider further said that after strict directives from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, strict action will be taken against persons involved in hoarding of sugar and selling before the start of the holy month of Ramazan.
He said that different raiding squads were formed to thwart attempts of sugar smuggling in the region, and the government tightened grips around these hoarders as the law.
