Fire at Rawalpindi grid station disrupts power to 14 feeders

A fire broke out in a manhole connected to the 132 kV Cantt Grid Station, disrupting power supply to 14 feeders in Rawalpindi, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel on Tuesday.

According to the ISCO spokesperson, electricity has been restored to 10 feeders, while power remains suspended in Committee Chowk, Liaquat Bagh, Arya Mohalla, and Mohanpura.

ISCO’s operational teams are working round the clock to restore power in the affected areas. 

The spokesperson apologised for the inconvenience caused and assured residents that efforts are underway to fully resolve the issue as soon as possible.

Authorities have yet to determine the cause of the fire, and investigations are ongoing. Meanwhile, residents continue to face electricity shortages in the peak winter season.
